1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using Research Nexus Score ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Research Nexus Score is a free, open-source tool that evaluates metadata coverage for Crossref members. The Service provides:

  • Metadata quality scores based on Crossref API data
  • Publisher rankings and leaderboards
  • Recommendations for metadata improvement
  • Educational resources about the Research Nexus

3. Data Source

All scoring data is derived from the publicly available Crossref REST API. Research Nexus Score is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to Crossref. The scores and rankings are calculated independently using Crossref's public metadata coverage statistics.

4. No Warranty

The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee:

  • The accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of scores
  • Uninterrupted or error-free operation
  • That the Service will meet your specific requirements

5. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall Research Nexus Score, its creator, or contributors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to interfere with the proper operation of the Service
  • Scrape or harvest data in a manner that impacts Service availability
  • Misrepresent scores or rankings in misleading ways

7. Open Source

Research Nexus Score is open-source software licensed under the MIT License. You are free to use, modify, and distribute the code in accordance with the license terms. See our GitHub repository for details.

8. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
